Week 2 Blog: Social Listening

I chose to look into what people were saying about Tesla on Twitter. Tesla's value proposition is "sustainable transport."  Tesla leads the feild in electric transportation.

Three positive things I found people saying were:
NBC bay area tweeted "feeling the stress of tesla's model 3 production, CEO Elon Musk said he's so busy he cant even go home to shower and he's sleeping on the floor of the Freemont factory." This is a good thing because the people that are invested in this company will see that thier CEO is working his absolute hardest.
Tesla Motors Club tweeted "Tesla recieves order for 50 trucks from a leasing company."
This is good because the electric semi-trucks are the first if thier kind and people are waiting to see how they pan out.
Teslarati said "Tesla to begin model Y production at Fremont factory in November 2019." This is good because Tesla will be putting out a new type of electric car, further expanding thier variety.

Three negative things I found were:
A link to an article about a deadly crash that happened when a tesla was on auto pilot. The tweet stated "Tesla issues strongest statement yet blaming driver for the deadly crash" News reporter Dan Noyes was responsible for this tweet. The headline of this tweet can be dangerous because it is taking things out of context. Althought autopilot drives itself, the driver is responsible for staying alert and keeping his hands on the wheel at all times to correct any misteaks, this could only happen if the driver wasnt paying attention.
Zerohedge tweeted "Tesla production delays 'worse than I thought, Musk tells NBC."  This tweet is just stating that Tesla is behind on production. However it doesnt give a reason or explain any further.
Jim Cramer stated "For the sake of investors, Tesla CEO Elon Musk needs to be quiet on twitter." This is an issue because Musk is very opinionated, and could be scaring away investors that he desperatly needs to survive.

If I were on the Tesla marketing team I would not respond to the good stuff people are saying about Tesla beause there is nothing to clear up. But I would chose to clear up some of the rumors and accusations fkying around to preserve the public image of the company. The sistuation that Tesla is in means that they need all the investors they can get. They dont want thier possible investors to be scared off by some exaggerated or fabricated tweets.
